The pieces in this category are made in the style of the jasperware originated by Josiah Wedgwood and made by the Wedgwood china company. Japan also produced this style of porcelains. The main difference between the pieces made by the Wedgwood company and by the oriental companies was that the oriental companies primarily employed a slip trailing technique to create the designs, whereas the Wedgwood company primarily used a sprigging technique to apply the designs. (Sprigging is where the white decorations are cast in small plaster molds and then applied to the colored vases.) These miniature pieces are made with a slip trailing technique. Many of the designs are reproductions of antique Wedgwood or oriental designs. All of the pieces in this category are individually hand made and hand slip trailed by the artist Marsha Hedrick, an IGMA Fellow. Pieces can be ordered in wedgwood green, wedgwood blue, lavendar, yellow, pink, red,and black.
